Gargling with common sage (Salvia Officinalis) tea, helped strengthen gums and keep teeth white and was also a well-known, sometimes very effective laryngitis and sore throat cure. Sage tea can also be used to relieve the discomfort of measles, dizziness, colds, fever, and headaches.
Sage has been taken for everything from stomach and digestive complaints to a rinse for bleeding gums.
It has been used to treat a variety of illnesses including hemorrhoids, and in homeopathy it is apparently a remedy for excessive breast milk flow. Externally, it can be used to treat mild skin injuries inflammation.
Tea cooked from White Sage leaves can be taken internally as a poison oak remedy. It is also used as an external treatment, and areas affected by poison oak are generously bathed in the same solution.

White Sage Leaves
Sauce Pan or Tea Kettle
Honey, Lemon, or Sugar
Take 3 to 8 leaves (depending on size)
Break leaves up into smaller bits and place them into the bottom of your teacup.
Pour boiling water over the White Sage Leaves, and let steep for 10 minutes.
Sweeten to preferred taste.
The tea is used to break a fever, induce a sweat or drink while in a sweat lodge to cleanse yourself of bad thoughts and negativity. Limit to only one cup per 24 hour period.
White Sage Leaf Bath:
Break and sprinkle one ounce of dried sage leaves, into your bathtub.
Fill with your preferred tempered water.
Then soak for a minimum 10-15 minutes or more.
The sage is a natural cleanser and destressor for both the physical and mental body.
Sage should not to be used during pregnancy. Not recommended for long term use.
