Queen of Love

Oshun is a Yoruban Goddess known as the Queen of Love. As long as you are totally honest in your intentions, her energy will work well for you; but if you do anything underhanded, expect the situation to blow up in your face, and the effects to last a long time.

Supplies: One small white ceramic plate, a pencil, four slices of orange (to make love come faster), three drops of honey (an offering to Oshun), three cloves (for protection so that you don't pull in the wrong person), 1/4 teaspoon of brown sugar (to sweeten yourself and promote friendship), and seven yellow candles (gold and yellow are the colors for Oshun).

Spell: On the night of a full moon, on a Friday of a waxing moon, or in the Venus hour, write your name on the white plate horizontally, then vertically, your name becomes a balanced, equal armed cross. Arrange the four slices on the plate. In the center (where the two names meet and the orange slices meet) place three drops of honey, sugar, cloves, and cinnamon. Hold the plate under the full moon and say:

Oshun sings a sexy tune
She who cradles, loves, and croons,
Bring to me love's energy
Bless me with love's unity.
Honey, sugar, moon's sweet glow
Mother Goddess, love bestow.
Orange nectar plate of life
Banish any type of strife
Magick mixes, grows, and blooms
Touch my life, surround this room.

Place the plate on your love altar. Surround with the seven yellow candles. Burn the candles each night for seven nights. Leave the plate on the altar until the type of love you seek has entered your life. Dispose of the fruit and sugar mixture out of doors, whispering Oshun's name, as these items now belong to Her.

Revving Up a Tired Relationship

Supplies: One full can of fresh coffee, one red marker

Instructions: On a Tuesday, in the hour of Mars (if you can), turn the unopened coffee can upside down and draw the symbol of Mars and the Rune Gyfu (X) on the bottom of the coffee can. Open the can. Massage (yes, absolutely) the coffee in your hands, for at least seven minutes, focusing on waking up your relationship, adding zest and positive excitement. Brew a pot and serve!

Here's a practical tip that will help you produce a firm foundation for love, and is also of assistance if you're trying to move the dregs of an old relationship out of your life.

Throw away all circular objects from past unhappy relationship experiences. A circle holds power, and therefore any bracelets, earrings, necklaces, rings, anklets, cups, or other practical round objects contain a living energy record of old relationships.
