There is a double pointed hilt of both sides of the blade that adds to the intricate triton design. The blade is double edged and it is approximately 2.5 inches 63.5 mm long, the handle including hilt is 3.5 inches or 88.9 mm long, with an overall length of 6 inches or 152.4 mm. The patterns and detail in the workmanship of this athame are awesome and a joy to look at.
The Athame Necklace comes with a simple black hard shell plastic sheath to keep the stainless steel double edged blade protected to maintain its new look and feel. The sheath includes a neck chain at the lower tip to keep this athame around your neck in those times when you are outside in ritual and are wearing only a robe with no pockets.
When worn around the neck, it allows you to simply pull at the athame handle with a single hand, and remove it from the sheath for use in ritual. This allows you to keep your athame close and ready for ritual time no matter what time or no matter where you are
