Dark Visions Crystal Ball Set consists of a beautifully crafted angelic themed stand and crystal ball.

The word Crystal comes from the Greek and means 'frozen water' or 'clear ice'. For gazing purposes, quartz crystal, glass, mirrors and water have been used for thousands of years to predict future events and gain mystic insights.

The Dark Visions base has a lot of details such as the great details in the angels wings, and strands of hair on her head. Even the flower's pink petals are detailed enough to show depth between the petals themselves. The base the stand measures approximately 4.5 inches in diameter. the top of the stand measures approximately 2.5 inches in diameter x approximately 2.5 inches tall. It is made out of a medium weight polyresin with brilliant hand painted colors. The overall width at the base's widest point is approximately 5 inches, and it has two angels, one on either side of the base.

The Crystal Ball or Clear Glass Sphere measures approximately 4.5 inches in diameter. It is made from the highest quality ground silica that has been molten into a Clear Glass Sphere or Gazing Ball

Basically there are four types of crystal balls commonly used. The first type is the low cost solid glass gazing ball. The second type is made from lead crystal or a mixture of this and glass. The third type is the reconstituted quartz crystal balls. For most, these are the best option as the cost is low while still consisting of pure quartz. Reconstituted means it is pure quartz that is ground, heated and then reformed into a sphere shape. The fourth type is the pure quartz spheres. These are much more expensive and never completely clear. They contain inclusions that give it that 'ice' look mentioned by the Greeks. Some people love these for gazing as they are pure quartz in its natural form. Others prefer a completely clear sphere.

For novices a 3 inch crystal ball is a good size. More experienced readers usually prefer the 4 - 6 inch sizes as they are easier on the eyes and provide a larger viewing area on which to project images. We don't recommend spheres smaller than 2 inch for crystal gazing.

When you purchase a crystal ball the first thing that you should do is clean it. Use a soft cloth and any non-abrasive, mild soap. Most dish washing liquids are fine for this. Gently scrub the crystal and dry with a soft cloth.

Never let the crystal come into contact with direct sunlight! We recommend you store your gazing ball in any light proof box, wrapped in dark cloth. Never store below 55 degrees F.
