Apache Drum is a single sided natural skinned drum with similar attributes of a bodhran drum.
There is a series of cords that hold the head in place and maintain tension on the natural skin by ornate knotted cords around the perimeter of the entire drum.
These same cords merge on the back side of the drum and are tied in such a manner that there is an eyelet for the player to insert their thumb to secure the drum in place without dampening the sound of the drum itself.
The apache drums natural skinned head is stretched over the main body of the drum which is made of a solid round wood frame. This configuration allows the drum to have great sound.
Also provided with this drum is a beautifully crafted striker with a rounded head and elongated handle adorned with strips of leather and feathers. Use the striker to produce the most beautiful sounds this drum is capable of making.
It is a great drum for events and festivals as well as your typical ritual or drumming circle. It may be played by novices or professional drummers alike as it is a very easy drum to play
The dimensions of this drum measure approximately 3 inches wide x 10 inches in diameter.
