Anise Star is whole, and sold by the ounce.
Anise Star is an evergreen tree that has an eight pointed, star shaped woody fruit with a single seed in each segment.
It is native to South China and North Vietnam, and Anise Star is now also grown in Japan and Southeast Asia.
The plant puts out a small star-shaped fruit with eight points, and a seed is contained in each of the points.
Anise Star can be used whole as a flavoring, its seeds can be used as a flavoring, and both are ground.
It has been used in Asia to flavor pork and chicken, in teas, and as a seasoning, and, with the advent of fusion cuisine, has spread around the globe.

To make an Herbal Pendulum
Ingredient:
Large herb such as anise star, piece of cinnamon bark, orris root, chip of
sandalwood a natural fiber thread of a light color.
Tie the string around the
herb, making sure that it won't slip.
Cut the thread so the length equals the distance between your thumb and little finger plus the width of the widest part of your hand.
To Use:
Hold the end with your strongest hand. Resting your elbow on the table ask a yes or no question.
The pendulum will begin to move in either a circular motion or back and forth.
The circular motion usually means yes and back and forth usually means no.
If it doesn't move it just means that there is no answer or you are not to know the answer.
